YUMMY CREPES WITH TM!

by Darius Toh Zheng Ting, Ng Li Xiang, Palinya Sengdalavong(Owen)

Here we have interviewed Ms Tan Ju Ling about her cooking hobby! We hope that this will inspire your inner Julia Child or Gordon Ramsay and perhaps try making these crepes for a family breakfast at home!

What have you been doing recently that you would like to share? Hi everyone! Aside from preparing for and teaching lessons via Google Classroom and Zoom during HBL, I've been spending more quality time with my husband and my cat, following YouTube exercise tutorials and trying out new recipes!

Could you share with us what inspired you to cook and how you got into it? Both my parents love being in the kitchen - my dad cooks and my mom bakes so since young, I've been interested in the Culinary Arts. I even wanted to pursue a career as a chef! Although I did not in the end, I really enjoy cooking and baking at home, and feeding my family and friends!

Heard you made some delicious crepes, could you share your recipe with us? Sure! This recipe is super easy and quick to whip up! The batter makes about 10 crepes which you can fill up with your favourite sweet or savoury fillings! Perhaps you could wake up earlier to do the prep work and treat your family to a lovely breakfast!

What would you like to say to the TMJC family to encourage them during this period? As we go into the 2nd month of the Circuit Breaker in Singapore, many may be feeling anxious and overwhelmed. Whilst you strive to keep up with your school work, do give yourself space and time to rest and relax, whether individually or with the rest of your family. Physical, mental and social health are all important! So do take care of yourself as well as reach out to those in need if you can. Together, we can and will emerge stronger! :)
